Become a Yoga Teacher

Why It’s More Than Just a Certification!

Are you ready to deepen your practice and transform your life? Becoming a yoga teacher is about so much more than learning poses or earning a certificate—it's about embracing a lifestyle that empowers you to inspire others, create change, and connect more deeply with yourself and your community.

Our Yoga Alliance-approved 200-hour teacher training has been evolving for over 10 years, offering a comprehensive dive into all 8 limbs of yoga. This isn’t just about mastering asanas—it’s about understanding the "why" behind every movement, every breath, and every philosophical principle. You’ll learn how to share yoga in a way that’s meaningful, purposeful, and aligned with your unique voice.

Why Take the Leap?

  • Inspire Others: Guide students on their own personal journeys of growth, healing, and self-discovery.

  • Transform Yourself: Deepen your practice, improve your mental clarity, and unlock the power of living mindfully.

  • Create Lasting Impact: You’ll gain tools to not only teach yoga but to live it—and inspire others to do the same.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Alignment-Based Asana Practice: Master the essentials of safe, effective movement.

  • Yoga Anatomy & Physiology: Understand how the body works in yoga so you can teach with confidence.

  • Vinyasa Flow Principles: Craft intelligent, breath-connected sequences that elevate every practice.

  • Pranayama & Meditation: Explore the power of breath and stillness to calm the mind and connect to your inner self.

  • Yoga Philosophy: Dive into the Yoga Sutras and ancient wisdom that gives yoga its heart and soul.

  • Teaching Methodology & Practicum: Get hands-on experience leading classes, learning how to cue, adjust, and create meaningful experiences.

  • Effective Adjustments: Learn the art of touch and how to communicate through both verbal and hands-on adjustments.

This isn’t just a training program—it’s the start of your journey to live and teach yoga with purpose, passion, and authenticity. Ready to take the leap? Meet Your Instructors
Teacher training is led by Christa Smith, E-RYT500, and her assistant, Jay Prouty, RYT500.

Christa Smith

Christa Smith 500 E-RYT has been teaching yoga for 14 years. She fell in love with the practice after taking her second class and knew right away she wanted to learn more. She decided to further her knowledge by obtaining her 200 hour teacher training certification. She then opened her own yoga studio in 2012 and later went on to receive her 300 hour certification. She has been running teacher training programs for 12 years and loves sharing her passion with others. Christa has taught all different classes from Restorative to Power. She truly believes in the practice of yoga and how it can help unite the Mind, Body & Spirit.

Jay Prouty

Jay Prouty is a RYT 500 Yoga Teacher. His introduction to yoga was in early 2015; recovering from a sports injury, yoga was offered as a companion to physical therapy. This would prove to be a life-changing event. A year of steady practice brought a genuine need to grasp the mechanisms of yoga and its fundamental processes. Jay needed something to give explanation of the self-transformation occurring, both inside and outside the yoga studio. To deepen this understanding and grow his practice he enrolled in a 200 hour Baptiste Power Yoga Teacher Training. Jay’s passion for yoga and his authenticity shine through a unique teaching style that is powerful, enthusiastic, and encouraging. A former United States Marine, he leads by example through dedication, hard work and endless self-inquiry. Focusing safety, correct posture and alignment, as well as in-depth breathing techniques.
